The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has expressed concern over the recent political upheaval that led to the collapse of the government. However, selector Abdur Razzak maintains that politics does not influence cricket.
“I am sure, usually politics does not have much influence in cricket,” Razzak said before Bangladesh ‘A’ team’s visit to Pakistan on Friday (August 9) morning. ”Because cricket moves at the speed of cricket. The challenge is actually cricket.”
The tour was initially scheduled to depart on August 6 but was delayed by three days due to the political situation. Razzak expressed relief that the situation is now stabilizing.
“The current situation is not very bad,” he said. “Due to which (collapse of the government) our games were delayed. I was in a turmoil then.”
The tour will now consist of two four-day matches and three one-day matches, with the first game starting on August 13. The four-day team will be led by Enamul Haque Vijay, while the one-day team will be captained by Tawheed Hridoy.
