Pollutant absorbent polymer| Dinamalar

‘River water desalination’ schemes are being successfully implemented in many states. In particular, we can say the dye waste that pollutes good water. Scientists at North Carolina State University in the United States have found a solution for this.

Polycarbodiimide, a water-insoluble, nitrogen-rich polymer, is used for this. When polycarbodimidine was mixed with 20 types of dye waste, it separated the dye from the water and floated on top of the water like oil. The water is clear.

The scientists have said that the dye attached to the polymer can be washed away and the polymers can be reused for pollution removal.
