The polyphonic group Ranina Quartet is coming on Monday, August 5th to the square of Agia Paraskevi Konitsa, straight from Tbilisi, to take the audience on a journey into the world of traditional Georgian music.


Four enchanting voices make up the vocal ensemble Ranina Quartet coming to Konitsa from Tbilisi, Georgia. The multitalented Georgians will introduce us to their multifaceted musical work, performing traditional Georgian music, church hymns, urban and polyphonic music. Georgian polyphony is an ancient vocal tradition, registered in the repertoire of Unesco’s Intangible Cultural Heritage.
The Ranina Quartet was created six years ago and they already have over 100 songs to their credit. At the concert, which will be given at 9 pm on Monday, the central square of Agia Paraskevi will sound Georgian polyphony. In addition, they will perform different genres from western and eastern Georgia, they will present a mix of acoustic and traditional music, but also samples of European influence from Georgian urban music. In fact, they are expected to present an event on stage with the participation of the audience.
The quartet consists of Tornike Kandelaki, Soso Kopaleishvili, Saba Peikrishvili and Beka Kemularia.
