The deal for the OTD and satellite license of Mani Ratnam’s ‘Ponniyin Selvan’ has been revealed.
Mani Ratnam has completed the adaptation of Kalki Krishnamurthy’s historical fiction novel ‘Ponniin Selvan’ into a film of the same name. His dream movie is made in two parts. Director Mani Ratnam surprised by shooting two parts in 155 days even during the Corona period. The first part will hit theaters on September 30 in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and other languages.
The film stars Vikram, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Aishwarya Rai, Parthiban, Jayaram, Prabhu, Raghuman, Vikram Prabhu, Aishwarya Lakshmi, Shadows Ravi, Sarathkumar, Shopitha, Prakashraj among many leading stars. AR Rahman has composed the music for this film. Lyca is producing the film in collaboration with Mani Ratnam’s Madras Talkies at a huge expense. Cinematography by Ravi Varman. Srikar Prasad is handling the editing work for this film.
The trailer and audio launch of this film was held a few days ago in a grand manner at the Nehru Indoor Stadium in Chennai. In this case, the information about the sale of the OTD license of this film has been revealed. As Amazon Prime has already acquired the OTD license of this film, it has been reported that the OTD release license of the two parts has been sold for Rs 125 crore. Similarly, the satellite license of the film is said to have been sold for several crores of rupees. Also, the film crew announced on their Twitter page that the business of the film’s theatrical release license has also been completed.
The film’s budget is said to be Rs 500 crore. It has been reported that the audio and trailer launch events may be telecasted on popular private television a week before the release of the film. The crew is planning to go to various places soon to promote the film.
