Mani Ratnam’s big budget film Ponniyin Selvan Part 2 will reportedly hit the theaters in April next year. Cinema trade analyst Ramesh Bala informed that the film will hit the theaters on April 28 next year. But there is no official announcement.
The first part of Ponniyin Selvan was released on September 30 in five languages namely Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The film held the record of being the fastest film to cross 100 crores in Tamil Nadu.
The film, which tells the story of the Chola kings, has a huge star cast. Aishwarya Rai, Vikram, Karthi, Jayaram, Jayam Ravi, Trisha, Sarath Kumar, Aishwarya Lakshmi and others gave an extraordinary performance. The second part is based on Kalki Krishnamurthy’s Tamil novel.
Ponniyin Selvan is a Brahmanda novel in five parts. It was shortened and the film was made into two parts. The makers are hoping that the second part of Ponniyin Selvan will get the same reception as the first part. The film will hit the screens in April next year.
