Sydney: Former Aussie captain and batting legend Ricky Ponting has predicted the winner of the T20 World Cup, which will begin in October. Ponting’s prediction is that Australia will win the title this time. The former captain also predicts that India will be the opponents of Aussies in the final.
Australia will win the title by defeating India. He points out that the Aussies, who are also the current champions, have an advantage as the tournament is being held in Australia.
Apart from India and Australia, England will also make good progress in the World Cup. England is the best white ball team. Currently, at least on paper, Australia, India and England teams are ahead. All three teams have great match winners.
Meanwhile, Ponting says there is no chance of Pakistan winning the title. If Babar doesn’t shine in the Assam tournament, I don’t think they can win the title. Recently, former Pakistan player Waqar Younis said that Pakistan will win the second T20 World Cup by winning this World Cup. But Ponting is not promising at all.
Ponting says winning a tournament like the World Cup requires a bit of luck. New Zealand, Pakistan and West Indies are the teams that have shown a lot of interest in the T20 format. Ponting pointed out that he would not be surprised if one of these three teams reached the final.
