“The attack was brief and brutal”, specifies the Departmental Directorate of Public Security (DDSP) of Val-d’Oise. While she was out for some fresh air in front of the entrance to the René-Dubos hospital in Pontoise, a doctor was violently attacked with a knife in the back by an unbalanced woman. The facts took place on Friday around 4:50 p.m.
The victim was seriously injured but his days are no longer in danger this Saturday according to the police. An investigation was opened for “attempted homicide”. The woman behind the assault was arrested at her home shortly after the incident.
This woman knew the doctor well
The victim is a stomatologist in the Jean-Delay psychiatry department of the hospital. At the end of the afternoon yesterday, this 52-year-old doctor goes outside in front of the establishment’s door to take a break. The 27-year-old young woman suffering from psychiatric disorders then approaches her discreetly, from behind. She brutally plants her knife in the back of the victim. The doctor is seriously injured. She was rushed to Bichat hospital in Paris with “a vital prognosis”.
The young woman behind the stabbing knew the doctor well but was not hospitalized in the establishment at the time of the attack, according to a source familiar with the matter. On the other hand, she is well known to the police for regularly hanging out in front of the hospital as well as “for possession of knives, psychiatric disorders and various damage to cars in front of this hospital”.
A crew from the Cergy police station went to her home just after the facts to question her. She is currently in custody. The victim had emergency surgery last night. This Saturday, she is in the recovery room. His days are not in danger.
