Poonamalle court refuses to give police custody to Youtuber Karthik gopinath

Utopian Karthik Gopinath has been involved in a multi-lakh fundraiser through his website, claiming that he is going to rebuild the Madurakaliamman temple in Siruvachchur, Perambalur district, without the permission of the Tamil Nadu government’s Department of Hindu Religious Affairs.

Following this, Avadi Central Crime Branch police arrested YouTuber Karthik Gopinath from Midnamalli area next to Avadi based on a complaint lodged by Perambalur District Siruvachchur Madurakaliamman Executive Officer Aravindan.

Based on his interrogation, Karthik Gopinath has been jailed on charges of misuse of 420, 406 and 66 (d) information technology, fraud and breach of trust. Following this, the bail petition filed by him has been adjourned.

In this context, the Central Criminal Police today filed a petition in the Poonamallee court seeking permission to detain and interrogate Karthik Gopinath for 7 days. The petition came up for hearing today. Following this, Karthik Gopinath, who was lodged in Pulhal jail, was brought to the Poonamallee court today under heavy police security.

When the petition came up for hearing, the judge denied permission to take Karthik Gopinath into custody and interrogate him and ordered that the petition be dismissed. Following this, Karthik Gopinath was again imprisoned in Pulhal.
