Poor Less State: Uncompromising Action Behind Achievement – CM

Thiruvananthapuram: Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan responded to the report of the Justice Commission that Kerala is the state with the lowest number of poor. Kerala’s achievement in the Multi Dimensional Poverty Index (MPI) compiled by the Finance Commission, which assesses poverty in the states on the basis of health, education and living standards. The poor are more in Bihar. There is a big difference between Kerala and other states.

The Chief Minister said on Facebook that he was proud of the government’s uncompromising efforts to ensure the welfare of the people despite many challenges, including epidemics and natural disasters.

Poverty can be eradicated from our country with the implementation of new schemes launched by the government aimed at eradicating extreme poverty. Everyone must stand together for the realization of that great goal. The Chief Minister added that we can move forward with pride and confidence.

Kerala is number one not only in sustainable development but also in poverty alleviation. Kerala has been selected as the poorest state in the National Multidimensional Poverty Index published by the Judicial Commission. According to the list, the poverty rate in Kerala is only 0.71 per cent.

The main criteria for learning are health, education and quality of life. The Justice Commission’s list is based on a number of indicators, including access to nutrition, sanitation, infant and adolescent mortality, electricity, and housing.

It is a matter of pride that despite the many challenges posed by the epidemic and natural disasters, the uncompromising efforts of the Government to ensure the welfare of the people have laid the foundation for this achievement.
