Due to the worship of crores of Rudras, the Moolavar in this temple is called as Rudra Kodeeswarar. In this temple, the full moon pooja of Avani month was performed. On this occasion, a special abhisheka decoration and Mahadeepa worship was held for Moolavar Rudrakotiswarar. Food was given to the devotees. A large number of devotees from Pilliyarpalayam area participated in the ceremony.
