“What if he still doesn’t understand? So, Jesus says, involve the community. But also in this case, let’s be clear: it is not about pilloriing the person, publicly shaming them, but rather uniting everyone’s efforts to help them change.”

“Pointing fingers at people is not good, in fact, it often makes it more difficult for someone who has made a mistake to recognize their own mistake. Rather, the community must make him or her feel that, while condemning the error, it is close to him or her with prayer and affection, always ready to offer forgiveness and start again,” she remarked.

In this sense, he encouraged the faithful to ask themselves the following questions: “How do I treat those who are wrong against me? Do I keep it to myself and accumulate resentment with “you’ll pay me for it”? Do I talk about it behind his back? Or do I try to talk to them? Do I pray for him or her, ask for help to do good?”
