The three-time prayer message led by the Pope in St. Peter’s Square at the Vatican on August 15, when the Holy Church celebrates the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

In the midday prayer, the Holy Father spoke about the conversation between Mary and her patron Elizabeth, which the Gospel of the Assumption of Mary puts before us today.
Elizabeth’s words, calling Mary blessed among women and blessed is the fruit of her womb, form part of the “Mary full of goodness” prayer. Each time we leave it, like Elizabeth, we greet and bless Mary. Because she brings Jesus to us, the Pope said.
A song of hope
Mary responds to Elizabeth’s blessing by giving us a “song of thanksgiving.” Papa said it can be defined as a song of hope. She goes beyond the great things that God accomplished in Mary. She meditates on God’s actions throughout the history of his people. Because when the mighty were brought down, the lowly lifted up, and the hungry satisfied, it was not so in reality. Even then, the terrible Herod would have continued his rule, the poor would have remained poor and the rich would have prospered, the Pope said. So Mary’s song of praise is intended to say something much more important than the news of the day. God was ushering in a historic event through her. A new order begins. Papa explained.
A subversion where power is service and rule is love
Maryam, a radical change, heralds the abdication of values that existed until then. Mary, carrying Jesus in her womb, tells Elizabeth the words that her son will later say. Blessed are the poor and humble, beware of the rich who rely on their own self-sufficiency. So Mary was actually prophesying that what comes first is not power, success, or wealth, but service, humility, and love. Looking at her in glory, the Pope explained that true power is service, that to rule is to love, and that this is the way to heaven.
The Holy Father said that we can ask how this prophetic upheaval announced by Mary affects our lives. For us to love is to rule, and to serve is to rule? Is heaven the goal of our lives? Or only earthly things bother me? When I think about worldly affairs, do I get lost in despair or can I see God accomplishing great things through being humble and humble like the Virgin Mary? The Holy Father asked us to ask ourselves.
The day of hope that Mary shines
Mary sings the song of hope today and shines the day of hope in us. In her we find the way of our journey. She was the first person to attain the victory of heaven with complete body and soul. She shows us that even though we fall into sin, heaven is within reach when we humbly praise God and serve others generously. She is our mother, who takes us by the hand and leads us to the glory of heaven and invites us to rejoice in the remembrance of heaven. The Pope concluded his message by exhorting us to praise Mary with our prayers and to ask her to shed upon us a prophetic gaze that can see heaven through the earth.
