Vatican City: Pope Francis has praised the services rendered by Catholic pharmacists. The pope said the days of the Kovid epidemic had paved the way for society to better recognize the value of the service rendered by pharmacists. The pope was speaking during a meeting with representatives of the International Federation of Catholic Pharmacists.

The pope also described pharmacists as a bridge between citizens and the health system. The days of the plague have brought pharmacists to the forefront and encouraged them to support each other. Pope Benedict XVI praised the federation for the opportunity given the crisis to give new impetus to their commitment and made it clear that this was a feature of the Catholic tradition.

Pharmacists make two types of contributions to the public good. One is to reduce the burden on the health system and the other is to alleviate social stress. This sharing should be done very discreetly and professionally. At the same time, the pope reminded the people to be close and to give advice.

Pope addresses representatives of the International Federation of Catholic Pharmacists.

‘People will often, in their frustration, find you with people who can approach you for help and advice. Pharmacists need to be convinced that we are close. ‘ The pope also spoke about the role that pharmacists can play in imparting comprehensive environmental awareness to the public.

‘We are called to learn a way of life that is more respectful of our public home to which God has ordained us. A healthy diet and lifestyle are all part of this lifestyle. ‘ Pharmacists can teach people to lead healthy lives by being inspired by the knowledge and practices of different cultures. The pope also reminded that a better life is not a privilege for some but for all.
