Pope Francis has shown his support and joins in prayer for Indi Gregory, the 8-month-old English girl who suffers from a terminal illness and who was disconnected this November 11 from the life support that keeps her alive, despite opposition parental.

The decision by doctors at Queen’s Medical Center in Nottingham (England) was made after English judges refused to transfer the girl to Italy. As of today, the minor has the Italian citizenship and with the support of the Bambino Gesù Pediatric Hospital in Rome, known as the Pope’s Hospital, which was willing to receive her and provide her with treatment.

The director of the Press Room of the Holy See, Matteo Bruni, announced this Saturday the Holy Father’s thoughts on this case: “Pope Francis joins the family of little Indi Gregory, her father and mother , pray for them and for her, and direct your thoughts to all the children who at this very hour around the world are living in pain or in danger due to disease and war.
