Pope Francis prays for victims of migrant shipwreck in Italy By Reuters

VATICAN CITY (Reuters) – Pope Francis said on Sunday he was praying for all those caught up in the sinking of a migrant boat off the southern tip of Italy that killed more than 40 people.

“I heard with sadness about the shipwreck off the coast of Calabria, near Crotone. 40 dead have already recovered, many of them children. I pray for each of them, for the missing and for the other surviving migrants”, said the Pope in his weekly address to the crowds in St. Peter’s Square.
