Initiated by Pope John Paul II on October 27, 1986, as a joint prayer meeting for peace with various religious representatives, the 36th meeting is currently being held at the Colosseum by the San Egidio Piranbu organization.

The conference, which was launched by various religious leaders in the presence of Italian President Sergio Mattarella and French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday, October 23, under the title ‘Cry for Peace’ at the “Nuvola” seminar center in the EUR area of ​​Urom, will conclude on Tuesday evening at the Colosseum with the participation of Pope Francis.

Since 1986, the annual prayer meeting for peace has been held in various European countries, but in recent years, it has been held in the city of Urom due to the Covid pandemic, and it is noteworthy that Pope Francis has also participated in it for three years.

Organized in today’s context of war in the world, especially the war in Ukraine, this ‘Cry for Peace’ prayer event is attended by Christian, Jewish, Islamic, Buddhist, Sikh, and Hindu religious representatives, along with many religious authorities.
