Hyderabad: Veteran actor Krishna (79), known by his fans as the superstar of Telugu film industry, was admitted to a private hospital in Hyderabad due to ill health. He died of a heart attack yesterday morning. He is the father of actor Mahesh Babu.
Krishna is famous for acting in more than 350 films, making his debut as an actor at the same time as NT Rama Rao, Nageswara Rao, Chopan Babu, Krishnamma Raju.
Actor Krishna suffered a heart attack last Sunday at around 2.30 am. Immediately his family took him to a private hospital in Hyderabad and admitted him. There he was given intensive care in the ICU ward. However, the doctors said that he died of a heart attack at 4 am yesterday without treatment.
Following this, his body was brought to his home in Hyderabad. Cinema, political figures and fans were shocked to learn of Krishna’s demise. Many people visited his house in Hyderabad to pay their respects.
Former Vice President Venkaiah Naidu, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhara Rao, Telugu Desam Party President Chandrababu Naidu, actors Chiranjeevi, Mohanbabu, Allu Arjun and actresses, directors, producers, Telangana state ministers among others paid floral tributes to actor Krishna.
Later his body was brought to Kachubowli Sports Ground. His body will be kept there for public tribute. After this, many fans paid tribute to Krishna’s body. In this case, his body will be taken to Minmayanam in Hyderabad at around 3 pm today, where the funeral rites will be held with state honors.
Prime Minister Modi, Rahul Gandhi, Andhra Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Stalin, actors Rajinikanth, Kamal Haasan, actresses Jayasudha, Jayaprada and others have condoled the death of actor Krishna through social media.
