María Paula Peña, 27 years old and victim of an attack by her pets, two American bully XL dogs, has been in intensive care for two weeks in a clinic in the United States.
The tragic incident occurred on June 24, when María Paula Peña, a 27-year-old woman from Santander, arrived home from work in Concord, California.
The woman, who worked as a babysitter, arrived home and took her pets, two XL American Bully dogs, out into the garden to play.
Maria Paula had a good relationship with her pets, so she did not anticipate the disastrous event that was about to occur. The woman, who has lived on American soil for 6 years, was brutally attacked while playing with her pets. The bloody scene not only required the intervention of the neighbors, but also of the authorities, who had to intervene and de-escalate the animals to save the life of the Colombian woman.
The Santander native was immediately taken to the emergency room where she underwent surgery due to the serious injuries to her body, especially to her left arm and right leg. Several hours of surgery were necessary to stabilize her, and María Paula is currently at the John Muir Health hospital in the city of Wanult Creek, California, undergoing a delicate and long recovery process.
This is the situation of the Colombian woman after the fierce attack by her pets.
