Popular front hartal: 308 cases of violence so far; 834 people in reserve detention

So far, 1287 people have been arrested in the state in violent incidents that took place as part of the hartal called by the Popular Front. 308 cases were registered. 834 people were taken into custody.
Most people have been arrested in Kottayam district. 215 people were arrested in 28 cases in the district. More cases are in Malappuram district, 34. 141 accused in violent incidents have been arrested in the district. 128 people are in reserve detention. 114 people were arrested in Wayanad district in five cases.
52 people were arrested in 25 cases in Thiruvananthapuram City and 132 people were arrested in 25 cases in rural areas. 169 people were arrested in 27 cases in Kollam City and 111 people were arrested in 15 cases in Pathanamthitta.
Meanwhile, more allegations have been raised against the Popular Front in the Enforcement Directorate report. Behind the Delhi riots was the intervention of the Popular Front. The report submitted by the ED to the court also said that there is a need to move towards a wider investigation.
According to the report, Popular Front attempted communal riots in Hathras and for this purpose four persons including media worker Siddique Kappan were appointed. The report also revealed that foreign aid of Rs 1.36 crore was received for Hathras riots. Meanwhile, the Popular Front activists who were arrested following the nationwide raid will be produced in the Delhi NIA court today. The interrogation of the arrested persons is continuing at the NIA headquarters.
