Popular Mobilization Forces weightlifters achieve important gain in Iraqi clubs weightlifting championship

Head of the Popular Mobilization Club delegation, Ahmed Khalil Yassin, confirmed that taking third place in the Iraqi Weightlifting Clubs Championship for the youth category represents an important gain for the club this season..

Yassin said in a statement received by the (INA): “The third place was achieved through the efforts of the technical staff and the weightlifters and thanks to the great support provided by the club’s management headed by Khaled Abdul Wahid Kabyan,” noting that “all participating clubs have a long history in the game.”

Yassin added, “Our club’s champions were able to win fifteen different medals, distributed between three gold, six silver, and six bronze.” He indicated that “the Popular Mobilization Forces’ medals came in the snatch and clean and jerk events.”

It is noteworthy that the Badra team won the Iraqi Clubs Championship in weightlifting for the youth category, which was held in Wasit Governorate and witnessed the participation of 18 clubs represented by 90 lifters, while the Baghdad Municipality team came in second place.
