Parenting Guru Arrested for Severe Child Abuse
The popular parenting guru in the United States, Robbie Frank, was arrested last week on suspicion of severely abusing her children. Along with Frank, her business partner, Judy Nan Hildebrandt, was also arrested. The two regularly collaborate on relationship and parenting advice videos.
Authorities received a report about a boy in need of help who was described as emaciated and malnourished, with open wounds and tape around his limbs. The young man’s condition was so serious that he was transferred to a local hospital. This led the police to a nearby house, where another young man was found in a similar condition. Frank’s two children were taken to the hospital for treatment, and her four other children were placed in the care of welfare officials.
Washington County in the state of Utah has filed charges against Frank and Hildebrandt for three counts of abuse of each of the two children: physical abuse, starvation, and severe emotional harm. Moreover, each offense could result in a sentence of up to 10 years in prison and a fine of ten thousand dollars.
Frank gained popularity following her successful YouTube page, where she appeared with her husband Kevin and six children. The channel had close to 2.3 million subscribers before it was removed earlier this year for an unknown reason. Her parenting had already come under heavy criticism after one of her children revealed that he was forced to sleep on a sack of lentils as punishment. In another incident, she faced harsh criticism after admitting in the past that she withheld meals from her children as part of a disciplinary method.
Shari Frank, the eldest daughter of the successful vlogger, expressed her relief on Instagram after her mother’s arrest. She wrote, “We are so happy that justice was done. For years we tried to tell the police and the authorities about this, and we are so happy that they finally decided to do so.”
