Broadcaster Park Ji-yoon, who is in the process of divorcing announcer-turned-broadcaster Choi Dong-seok, appeared to choke up while mentioning her children during her acceptance speech at the awards ceremony.
Park Ji-yoon received the Popular Star Award at the 3rd Blue Dragon Series Awards held at Paradise City in Incheon on the 19th.
Park Ji-yoon looked choked up and said, “I think today, at least, my children will be proud of me.”
He said, “It’s been over 10 years since I’ve been to an awards ceremony,” and “It’s thanks to the fans of ‘Crime Scene’ and ‘High School Mystery Club’ on Tving.” He added, “I finally got a fan club 20 years after my debut,” and “I think those friends worked really hard.”
Park Ji-yoon expressed her feelings on her Instagram the next day, the 20th, saying, “I replied to the congratulatory messages and text messages that rang for a long time, and thank you to everyone who congratulated me.”
He expressed his gratitude to PD Yoon Hyun-joon, who directed the ‘Crime Scene’ series, PD Jeong Jong-yeon, who directed the ‘High School Mystery Club’ series, and PD Im Soo-jung, who directed ‘High School Mystery Club 3’ after PD Jeong left CJ ENM.
Park Ji-yoon said, “While doing OTT entertainment, I was moving away from terrestrial cable channels, and when people asked me, ‘Why aren’t you on TV these days?’, I felt a little sad inside. But after receiving the popularity award at the awards ceremony yesterday for the first time in 10 years, I think it was a good decision to do OTT entertainment.”
While doing so, she expressed her affection for her children by saying, “I will personally express my gratitude to my friends, older sisters, and younger siblings who have always supported and encouraged me by meeting them for a meal and a chat. To Dain and Ian, Mom will quickly get on a plane and go down to show them the trophy. I love you always,” adding warmth.
Meanwhile, Park Ji-yoon and Choi Dong-seok, who joined KBS as announcers in the 30th batch, tied the knot in 2009 and had a son and a daughter, but announced their divorce in October of last year after 14 years of marriage.
