Former US President Donald Trump, who is doing well following the recent attack, explained his testimony about the incident that occurred this Saturday in Pennsylvania.

Trump was giving a speech at a crowded campaign rally when a shooter opened fire, hitting him in the right ear and forcing him to be evacuated and treated.

The suspected shooter, identified by the FBI as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks, was shot dead by authorities. One attendee at the event was also killed and two others were seriously injured.

“I want to offer my condolences to the family of the person who was killed at the rally, and to the other person who was seriously injured,” the former president said in a message on his social network Truth.

Trump said: “It is incredible that an act like this could happen in our country.”

He also said that “nothing is known at the moment about the attacker, who is dead.”

The Republican candidate for the November 5 elections also gave his first-person account of the event.

“I was shot with a bullet that pierced the top of my right ear,” he said.

He added: “I knew immediately something was wrong when I heard a whistling sound, gunshots, and immediately felt the bullet tearing through my skin.”

“There was a lot of blood and then I realized what was happening,” he concluded.
