Guwahati: An obscene scene was seen on the stage screen during a function attended by Union Minister, Assam Minister and top officials. The incident took place during a presentation ceremony of methanol-containing M-15 petrol organized by the IOC in Tinsukia, Assam on Saturday. The pornographic video was streamed on a screen set up behind the stage while Union Minister of State for Petroleum Rameshwar Theli, Assam Labor Minister Sanjay Kisan and Indian Oil Corporation officials were present on the occasion.

A screen was set up behind the stage to broadcast live footage of the ceremony. The pornographic video started playing while an IOC official was speaking on stage. The organizers immediately switched the screen to Damage Control mode and removed the video from the screen in a matter of seconds. But some in the audience had already recorded the scenes on their mobile phones.

Top police officials immediately rushed to the spot and launched an investigation. Tinsukia police registered a case in the incident. According to police, footage of the ceremony was streamed live online and an Indian Oil official shared his Zoom meeting ID and passcode on his Twitter account. Tinsukia Superintendent of Police Debojit Deori told News18 that the perpetrator, who learned of the meeting ID and passcode from his Twitter account, may have used it to zoom in on the meeting and then stream pornographic videos.

However, Rameshwar Theli said that when the pornographic video was streamed, he did not see it and was informed about it by his personal assistant. He said that it was proposed to investigate those involved in the incident and give them appropriate punishment.
