He Guayaquil Port Terminal (TPG) announced that, during the first half of August, it will install four third-generation hybrid HRTG gantry cranes that are friendly to the environment, which will allow a reduction in fuel consumption.

The new cranes will be equipped with intelligent security systems that are used in the main ports of the world. This equipment will add to the seven RTG yard cranes it already has, allowing it to streamline operations.

The manager of the TPG, Luisenrique Navas, commented that connecting Ecuadorian trade with the world is essential for its management. “We strengthened our port operation and optimized our services. At the TPG, we offer the best operational logistics to serve the ships of the shipping lines that arrive in Ecuador”.

The announcement was made to coincide with the 17 years that the terminal recently turned on July 4. During this period, it has mobilized 4.5 million containers and has invested more than US$163 million in the purchase of cranes, dock expansion and support areas.
