The Port Authority of Valencia and the Burgos productive sectors and institutions have agreed to work on the study of a direct rail connection that unites this key logistics node in the Mediterranean with the companies of that province.

As detailed in the conference ‘Valenciaport. Business opportunities and synergies’ in this report all the institutions and agents involved will work to materialize all the possibilities of this future project-

The Port of Valencia has highlighted the commitment to intermodality and the promotion of railways, which is why they support all initiatives of this type. “The railway is a key element for sustainability and efficiency, and this connection with Burgos is fundamental for the port and the business sector of that province. The Port Authority has already been involved in this type of operation, such as the Sagunto-Teruel-Zaragoza railway line. Now we have to cooperate between all the institutions involved to carry out this initiative”

The study, as was already carried out at the time for the Sagunto-Teruel-Zaragoza line, will analyze the opportunity and economic feasibility of rail connectivity between Burgos and the Port of Valencia.

Regarding the reopening to freight traffic of the Madrid-Aranda-Burgos train line, it has been indicated that with the help of the Port of Valencia, and the alliance with other venues and agents, the objective is to open the central corridor through Roblegordo so that companies save costs and be more competitive in international trade.
