Portkeys LH5P III Monitor Launches with 2200-Nit Screen and Control

Portkeys launched the LH5P III at IBC 2026, introducing a third-generation 5.7-inch on-camera monitor featuring a 2160 x 1080 resolution, a 2,200-nit daylight-viewable display, and an aluminum housing with a $399 price tag.

The newest entry in the LH5P product family arrives with several hardware updates designed to reduce cable clutter and improve monitor ergonomics on small camera builds. Weighing 235g / 8.29oz, the device is 18% lighter than its predecessor and maintains a slim profile at 28.4mm / 1.1in thick.

Display Specifications and Factory Calibration

The display panel utilizes a wider layout than standard 1080p monitors in its class, expanding its resolution to 2160 x 1080. This extra width lets the interface display a full 16:9 image without scaling down while reserving a side strip for status bars and function buttons.

Built for outdoor production work, the screen reaches a maximum brightness of 2,200 nits. According to manufacturer specifications, the screen operates on a true 10-bit hardware panel rather than an 8-bit panel utilizing 2-bit FRC dithering. The display also covers 104% of the P3 color gamut area ratio with a 1400:1 contrast ratio.

Each unit undergoes factory color calibration utilizing Calman. Users can scan a QR code provided in the box via the Portkeys app to pull up the calibration report specific to that unit’s serial number. Factory booth testing reported a Delta E below 1.1 in Rec. 709 and below 2 in DCI-P3, with a Delta E ≤ 2.5 in P3.

Wired and Wireless Control Ecosystem

Camera control remains central to the platform, and the LH5P III is powered by the company’s MOVNORM OS. The LH5P III provides both wireless and wired interfaces capable of operating with a broad range of manufacturer systems.

Wireless functions include touch focus frame and touch focus tracking, allowing operators to maintain a target lock on moving or static subjects. These focus features are available for select camera models, including the Sony FX3 and A7S III. For wired setups, the monitor ships with a 30cm two-in-one cable featuring a single HDMI connector on the monitor side that splits into an HDMI plug and a USB-C plug on the camera end, combining video feed and control signals into a single lead.

One-to-Many Collaborative Control and Monitor Range

A notable addition to the hardware is the one-to-many collaborative control system. The LH5P III can function as an active controller for up to four additional passive Portkeys monitors—specifically the LS7P, BM7II DS, LH7P, BM5IV WR, and other LH5P III units—over a wireless link extending up to 50m / 164ft.

Each connected unit maintains the ability to control its paired camera wirelessly over Wi-Fi or via a wired connection up to 7m / 23ft. Compatible camera lines span major manufacturers, including Sony FX3, FX30, FX6, FX5, A1, A7S III, A7R IV, A7R V, A7 IV, A7 V, and many more; Canon Cinema EOS cameras C50, C400, C80, and mirrorless cameras such as the EOS R5II, R6, R6II, R6III, and R50V; Panasonic S1, S1II, S1R, S5 II and BGH1/BS1H-Series cameras; Nikon ZR, Z8, and Z9 mirrorless cameras; and Blackmagic Design Pocket Cinema Camera 4K/6K models.

Physical Build, Ports, and Power Options

Constructed inside an aluminum housing, the monitor features thin top and bottom edges with a recessed display screen. Four user-assignable function buttons sit along the top edge.

Connectivity options comprise an HDMI input and an HDMI output, along with a 3.5mm audio output. The monitor supports maximum input resolutions up to 4K DCI at 60p, as well as 3D LUT monitoring with 3D LUT HDMI output capabilities, allowing monitoring tools to be set before or after the 3D LUT. Professional monitoring tools available on the system include RGB and Luma Waveform, Histogram, Zebra, Peaking, ARRI False Color, and the LogStops Exposure Tool, which is an innovative exposure tool based on actual camera stop data. Power is handled through a built-in Sony NP-F style battery plate or a USB-C PD power input for external power.
