The government of Portugal extended until August 31 the alert situation due to covid, the lowest level of disaster response, without modifying the current restrictions and indicated that he is open to applying new measures if cases increase with the arrival of autumn.
“The situation at this time is under control,” the Portuguese Presidency Minister, Mariana Vieira da Silva, said today during a press conference after the Council of Ministers.
Currently the mask is only mandatory in health centers, residences and on public transportafter last April 22 the Executive put an end to its use in the rest of the interior spaces.
Despite the improvement, the specialists who follow the evolution of the pandemic situation chose to maintain it.

In this sense, he added that with the arrival of autumn, a “worsening of the pandemic situation is possible, which may make it necessary to resort to additional measures.”
