Portugal drew with Wales

The Portuguese women’s football team drew 1-1 against Wales, in Guimarães, on Tuesday, April 11th, in a preparatory game for the World Cup to be held in Australia and New Zealand from July 20th to August 20th.

Portugal qualified for the Women’s World Cup for the first time and is part of Group E with the United States, Vietnam and the Netherlands.

On Tuesday, April 11, the Portuguese faced the Welsh: Wales, which did not qualify for the World Cup and is in 31st place in the ranking.

In this match, coach Francisco Neto fielded a completely different eleven from the one he played against Japan on Friday, April 7th.

With a different eleven against the Welsh, the Portuguese tried to open the scoring, but the ball ended up not going in, as for example a shot by Ana Rute that hit the crossbar.
