Portuguese coach dies during a football match in Kuwait

Roy Guimarães, coach of the Kuwaiti Al-Tadamun futsal team, died suddenly as a result of a health crisis, while leading a friendly match against Al-Qadisiyah in preparation for the under-17 league championship on Wednesday evening.

The Public Authority for Sports in Kuwait mourned the 40-year-old coach in an official statement, while Al-Tadamun Club stated that he did not suffer from any health problems.

Guimaraes is a well-known UAE futsal coach when he was leading the Dibba Al-Hisn team in 2019.

The late also trained Al Hamriya, Al Wasl, Shabab Al Ahly, Al Dhafra and Al Wahda clubs in the Emirates.
