Portuguese Cycling Prodigy Afonso Eulálio Set to Join Bahrain-Victorious in 2025

Afonso Eulálio, the young talent of Portuguese cycling, is preparing to take a big step in his career. According to sources from TopCycling, the 22-year-old cyclist, currently racing for ABTF-Betão Feirense, will transfer to Bahrain, a team in the WorldTour category, starting in 2025.

After an excellent year with ABTF Betão Feirense, the contract is valid for two years.

After Jornal de Notícias reported on the rider’s arrival at WorldTour, TopCycling confirmed that the destination is the structure in the Persian Gulf where no Portuguese has ever raced.

Afonso Eulálio wore the yellow jersey in the Volta a Portugal for six days until he cracked on Senhora da Graça.

Not having won, he said goodbye to the leadership by attacking on Monte Farinha. The Russian Artem Nych was the champion of the Volta a Portugal.

Victories at Alto de Montejunto (Troféu Joaquim Agostinho) and Alto da Penha (GP Jornal de Notícias) certify the potential of the climber from ABTF Betão Feirense.

Several teams approached the 22-year-old cyclist, but Bahrain and Cofidis were the structures that showed the most interest.
