New Delhi: Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi has said that cooperation with election strategist Prashant Kishore was possible but did not materialize. Cooperation with him was not possible due to various reasons. Priyanka also revealed that there were several discussions.
‘Reports that PK Prashant Kishore is joining the Congress were true. Almost everything came right but it didn’t come true. This happened for many reasons. There are reasons for this on his part and ours. Does not want to go into its details. In general, it can be said that the discussions did not go ahead due to disagreement on some issues, ”Priyanka said in an interview with NDTV.
Prashant had several discussions with Congress president Sonia Gandhi, former president Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi about joining the party. Political observers also said that Prashant would join the Congress. But Prashant’s public criticism of the Congress and its leaders was a stumbling block between the two.
Prashant is of the view that the Congress can play a crucial role in the 2024 general elections and that the present leadership is not ready for it. In the 2017 Uttar Pradesh elections, the Congress’ cooperation with Prashant did not improve.
