The released videos are a trailer video and a making-of video for a sci-fi movie. The title of the work is ‘Brutal Seoul’.
The AI model was created by learning national heritage data held by the National Heritage Promotion Agency and Korean object image data from the AI Hub. The latest deep learning technology was applied to data augmentation and AI model learning.
The background of ‘Brutal Seoul’ is a fictional Seoul in 2048. The work contains post-apocalyptic elements, such as the appearance of a new Gyeongbokgung Palace and dinosaurs in the future world.
The content of the work is a story of the male and female protagonists’ struggle for survival. Gyeongbokgung Palace has been realized in a virtual world reinterpreted using AI technology.
An official from the National Heritage Promotion Agency said, “Through producing videos using AI, we were able to confirm the possibility of using national heritage data as data to be utilized rather than as data to be preserved.” He added, “We will continue to combine national heritage and AI in various fields such as tourism, education, and games.” “We will publicize our national heritage and traditional cultural values,” he said.
