The National Employment Agency (ANPE) organizes information and awareness sessions for new graduates on the issue of employment in Benin. Through this initiative, the ANPE wants to guide the post-baccalaureate study choices of new baccalaureate holders.
What job to choose today, to be useful to companies? This is the question that the ANPE is trying to answer to guide the training choices of those happy with the 2023 baccalaureate in Benin. According to its managing director, guaranteeing employment after a diploma course involves choosing training in sectors where recruiters express a need for human resources.
“The world has changed, Benin has changed, our economy has evolved and young people must be informed of these developments which impact employment”, declared Urbain Amegbedji, Monday, August 14 on national television. The DG/ANPE refers in particular to the industrialization initiated in Benin and which favors the appearance of new professions and new needs on the labor market.
Focus on skills
Therefore, the choices of learners should focus on training in the skills demanded by the market. “We need to stop doing traditional training and parents too can be widely informed of the developments we are experiencing today. Companies come to the labor market to buy skills and not diplomas; the diploma is no longer a key to safe integration”underlined Urbain Amegbedji.
Two major cities targeted
Two major cities in Benin are targeted to host the sensitization which has already started this Wednesday, August 09 at the National University of Sciences, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics of Abomey. Another appointment is fixed at the conference room of the town hall of Parakou. These orientation sessions are broadcast live on the ANPE Facebook page.
