The National Unity Bridge Complex woke up full of posters with the image of President Daniel Noboa, this July 25, 2024, when Guayaquil commemorates 489 years of its foundation amid political disputes.
The posters have a photo of President Noboa with a background of the Guayaquil flag, accompanied by the text “Long live Guayaquil on its 489th anniversary!
The signature on the posters is ‘Sarmiento is People’. This is how Salvador Sarmiento Delgado is known, known as the “artisan of political propaganda” in Guayas.
This Thursday, President Daniel Noboa will be in Guayaquil, in the midst of the dispute with Mayor Aquiles Alvarez, which is more critical after the Government denounced him and his company for alleged irregular marketing of fuels.
Propaganda on the bridges of National Unity
This is not the first time that the National Unity Bridges, which connect Guayaquil, Samborondón and Durán, have been covered in images of Daniel Noboa.
Prior to the popular consultation in April 2024, posters in favor of the Yes vote were placed on light poles, with the president’s photo.
On that occasion, the posters were removed by the Ministry of Transport and Public Works, which is responsible for bridges, following complaints from citizens.
