The National Water Commission (Conagua) warned of a potential tropical cyclone that would be formed in the Pacific Oceanwith the possibility of forming in 48 hours or up to 7 days.
There are currently various meteorological phenomena affecting the Mexico’s climatefor example the Hurricane Francine in the north, as well as the Tropical Wave 21 and the Mexican Monsoon.
From the tropical cyclone season 2024a total of have been counted 8 events in the Pacific Oceanincluding two hurricanes; 15 to 18 are expected, while in the Atlantic 20 to 23 are estimated.
Alert for potential tropical cyclone in the Pacific Ocean: Conagua
Conagua warned of a low pressure zone which has a 70% chance of developing as tropical cyclone within the next 48 hours to 7 daysthis in the waters of the Pacific Ocean.
This low pressure zone and Potential tropical cyclone is located 230 kilometers away southwest of Manzanillo, Colima, moving towards the northwest of Mexico, so it will continue under Conagua surveillance.
On the other hand and in accordance with Conaguathe low pressure zone would absorb tropical wave number 21 for Tomorrow Thursday September 12, 2024.
Consequently, Conagua expected to continue to intensify until tropical cyclone and alert for Heavy rains for the next few days for the states of Nayarit and Jalisco, as well as hail and thunderstorms.
Conagua also expects that this weekendthe probable tropical cyclone in the Pacific Ocean continue its movement towards Baja California Sur, which would cause very heavy rains or intense in the northwest of Mexico.
