Thiruvananthapuram: Police have recovered an ax used to amputate a leg in the Pothencode Sudheesh murder case. The ax was found near the Ayyappa temple at Chirayinkeezhu following information provided by the first accused Sudheesh (Unni) and the third accused Muttai Shyam. Both were remanded.

The two were arrested on Wednesday from Vembayam Chathanpara. The second accused, Ottakam Rajesh, is yet to be arrested.

Sudheesh was hacked to death at Pothankode Kallur Pananvila Colony last Saturday due to a goonda attack. Then came the scene where he was riding his bike with his leg amputated. Sudheesh was the first accused to ride on the back of the bike with his amputated leg raised.

Police have intensified their search for the camel Rajesh. Police have stepped up surveillance following indications that he may surrender in court. Range DIG Sanjay Gurudeen said he would be arrested soon.
