Kochi: The court has postponed till Monday the hearing of the anticipatory bail application of hotel owner Roy Vayalat and his co-accused in the case of sexual assault on a minor girl at Hotel No. 18. The government told the court there would be no arrests until Monday. However, the government said Roy was not cooperating with the investigation. Roy’s friend Saiju Thankachan and Saiju’s friend Anjali from Kozhikode are accused in the case registered by Fort Kochi police.
The complaint was lodged by a mother and daughter from Kozhikode. Poxo filed a case against Vayalat and the other accused.
In October 2021, Roy was allegedly sexually assaulted at a hotel. Defendants filmed the torture scenes on their mobile phones. According to the complaint, Anjali had threatened to spread the video on social media if she lodged a complaint with the police.
The torture case has also been handed over to the special investigation team investigating the accidental death of the models in Kochi. Roy Vayalat and Saiju Thankachan are accused in the case where models died in a road accident on the night of November 1 at Palarivattom bypass.
