PP-DB filed a request for a hearing with the Minister of Energy in connection with the action of the European Public Prosecutor’s Office in “Bulgartransgaz”. This became clear from a publication of the coalition on Facebook.
It has been requested that the hearing be held tomorrow at a meeting of the Committee on Energy in the National Assembly.

PP-DB submitted a request for a hearing of the Minister of Energy in connection with the action of the European Prosecutor’s Office in “Bulgartransgaz”
Today, 13.08.2024, the members of the Energy Committee, broadcast by the Parliamentary Group of “Continuing the Change – Democratic Bulgaria”, requested a hearing of the Minister of Energy – Mr. Vladimir Malinov in connection with the action held this morning by the European prosecutor’s office in the premises of the state gas transmission operator “Bulgartransgaz” EAD. It was requested that the hearing be held on 14.08.2024 at a meeting of the Energy Committee in the National Assembly.
Given the lack of an official statement by “Bulgartransgaz” EAD and the various media publications regarding the root cause of the actions carried out, the purpose of the hearing is to clarify whether the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, which investigates crimes with euro funds, carried out these procedural and investigative actions within the framework of an inspection related to with PGH “Chiren” or with the contract with the Turkish company “Botash”. Until taking up his current position, Mr. Vladimir Malinov was the executive director of Bulgartransgaz EAD and for this reason he would have the most – full information on the case.
I very much hope that the European Prosecutor’s Office will reach the final step of this investigation, Kiril Petkov told journalists before a meeting of the PP-DB parliamentary group. We have witnessed many investigations started, it must be brought to an end, he pointed out. We’ll comment when that happens, but from our perspective there’s clearly a reason for them to be there. We don’t know the exact reason, whether it’s “Botash”, whether it’s “Chiren”, whether it’s other things, but let’s see that the European Prosecutor’s Office does its job, added Petkov.
Asked about the cabinet talks, he noted that the most basic purpose of a cabinet is to have fair elections. From this point of view, the strangest thing for me was not the “castings”, but the rallies that a minister organized himself. But the truth is that Kalin Stoyanov did not organize the rallies himself, said Petkov. According to him, it was a rally organized by Peevski with only one goal – to try to create public pressure in order to keep Kalin Stoyanov. And it is clearly very important to Peevski that Kalin Stoyanov be in his post for the next elections, which from our point of view is the biggest risk that “We can have fair elections if that is the case,” added Kiril Petkov. When asked whether the PP-DB will appear united in the elections in the fall, he replied that he believes that the union is the strength, writes BTA.
Acting Interior Minister Kalin Stoyanov also commented on the action that had begun at Bulgartransgaz. Employees of the national police are assisting and working according to a decree of the European Prosecutor’s Office, with which various investigative actions have been assigned, he pointed out and added that the actions are taking place at several addresses – in Sofia, Sliven and Kozloduy.
