PPPK Selection Bribery in Batu ⁤Bara: Former Regent’s Brother Receives IDR 2 ⁤Billion

The trial of the bribery case for the selection of PPPK (government employees with work contracts) in Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra (Sumut) has begun at the Corruption Court‌ in​ Medan.

The Public ⁤Prosecutor (JPU) of the Batu Bara District Attorney’s Office, Tomey Pandiangan, stated that the five defendants⁤ in the 2023 budget⁤ year PPPK selection ⁤bribery case received a bribe of IDR 2 billion.

The defendants are:

  • Faizal, younger brother of‌ former Batu Bara Regent​ Zahir
  • Adenan Haris, head of the‌ Batu Bara Regency Education Office
  • Darwinson‍ Tumanggor, Secretary of the Batu Bara Regency Education Office
  • Rahmad Zein, Head of the Batu Bara Education Office’s Human Resources Development Division
  • Muhammad Daud, Head of the Batu ⁤Bara Human Resources Development ‍and ​Personnel ⁣Agency (BKPSDM)

The bribe money ‍was allegedly‍ collected from PPPK selection participants who were asked varying amounts by ​the ⁢defendant Adenan Haris. Some‍ participants ​were‍ asked for tens ⁣of millions of rupiah or even more.

The public prosecutor stated that Faizal, the former⁢ regent’s brother, received IDR ​2 billion ⁤from the Head of Education and the‌ Head of BKPSDM.
