PPPK Selection Bribery in Batu Bara: Former Regent’s Brother Receives IDR 2 Billion
The trial of the bribery case for the selection of PPPK (government employees with work contracts) in Batu Bara Regency, North Sumatra (Sumut) has begun at the Corruption Court in Medan.
The Public Prosecutor (JPU) of the Batu Bara District Attorney’s Office, Tomey Pandiangan, stated that the five defendants in the 2023 budget year PPPK selection bribery case received a bribe of IDR 2 billion.
The defendants are:
- Faizal, younger brother of former Batu Bara Regent Zahir
- Adenan Haris, head of the Batu Bara Regency Education Office
- Darwinson Tumanggor, Secretary of the Batu Bara Regency Education Office
- Rahmad Zein, Head of the Batu Bara Education Office’s Human Resources Development Division
- Muhammad Daud, Head of the Batu Bara Human Resources Development and Personnel Agency (BKPSDM)
The bribe money was allegedly collected from PPPK selection participants who were asked varying amounts by the defendant Adenan Haris. Some participants were asked for tens of millions of rupiah or even more.
The public prosecutor stated that Faizal, the former regent’s brother, received IDR 2 billion from the Head of Education and the Head of BKPSDM.
