DEBRIEFING – In this debriefing, we discuss the various attacks to which the IHU-Méditerranée and Professor Raoult have been subjected since 2020 and the advent of the Covid crisis. Attacks “aiming to silence me”, he tells us. Repetitive and limited attacks, which pass badly in public opinion. Including in Parisian circles, in which the government’s apparent desire to harm the image of an internationally recognized scientist is increasingly considered a mistake. We cannot question “academics’ freedom of speech”.
Before 2020, the international strategy consulting firm McKinsey, carried out a glowing report of the research tool that constitutes the IHU-Méditerranée. A tool that was to be used both to do science on infectious diseases and to treat patients.
In March 2020, the Gautret study, on the dual therapy azithromycin + hydroxychloroquine demonstrates the drop in the viral load of patients infected with SARS-CoV-2, admittedly on a small sample, but sufficient to constitute the beginnings of a solid study. observational and above all provide, urgently, for a low cost and without risk, a potential solution to the Covid-19 epidemic.
Then, in May 2020, the fraudulent Lancet study (retracted less than 15 days after its publication) gave rise to a tweet by the Minister of Health at the time, Olivier Véran, who asked the administrative authorities to draw lessons from this study, in far too hasty a manner.
The inclusion of patients in studies that prescribe hydroxychloroquine is then stopped without being resumed, despite the established fraud. Communication from the IHU and Professor Raoult through the YouTube channel “We have the right to be intelligent” is not well seen by the government, and more particularly by Minister Véran, because it does not validate orientations that are more political than health.
Unassailable scientific “substrate”
Given that Professor Raoult’s analyzes and communication are based on scientific data and elements, it is difficult to attack him on the substantive elements, on science. This “substrate” explain according to the teacher “Why” il “was not censored” digital platforms, at least systematically.
So, a device aimed at silencing him was put in place with the appointment of François Crémieux as head of the Marseille hospital (AP-HM), with the fixed obsession on his part to want to put Professor Raoult “under control”.
For his part, Olivier Véran seized the IGAS (General Inspectorate of Social Affairs) with a mission of “control of the IHU” on November 4, 2021.
The mission led by seven inspectors is going well, with a good evaluation of the research and the work of the IHU. However, the preliminary report of June 2022 of 500 pages, which mentions a good number of opinions, is not based on the objective analysis of the data provided by the IHU in a set of documents of more than 75,000 pages.
It is normal – and even a right – that an administration report can be contradictory. IGAS only gave Professor Raoult 15 days to respond. Never seen ! Didier Raoult produced an 85-page response, which we publish today.
This response was not included in the August 2022 final report. Nor was it provided to the magistrate and inspectors who recently conducted a search at the IHU. Cavalier procedures that do not respect the law.
Professor Raoult discusses these subjects in this “conspiracy against science” in his eyes, which led to numerous criticisms against the IHU in the media, the latter having just taken up the IGAS report, without really providing an objective criticism.
Professor Raoult calls for the holding of a parliamentary or senatorial commission of inquiry in order to ensure, not that the ministers “go to prison”, but that we do a real feedback on the management of the crisis in the interest of patients who have suffered a proven loss of opportunity.
He also evokes the parliamentary inquiry in Great Britain where Boris Johnson is in the hot seat with decisions taken “wet finger”(see the LockDown Files scandal).
