JAKARTA – The Golkar Party officially proposes the name of Mayor of Solo Gibran Rakabuming Raka as vice presidential candidate (cawapres) accompanying Prabowo Subianto, through the Golkar Party’s national leadership meeting (rapimnas).

Responding to this, Prabowo Subianto said he would bring the proposal to the forum of party chairmen who are members of the Advanced Indonesia Coalition (KIM).

“Because we, the Advanced Indonesia Coalition, now consist of eight parties, four parliamentary parties and four non-parliamentary parties, but we also have roots,” said Prabowo after attending the National Meeting at the Golkar Party DPP Office, Slipi, West Jakarta, Saturday (21/10/2023 ).

“So usually we will have a meeting, deliberation, and later we will announce our joint decision. Of course we will take this proposal to the party General Chair forum,” continued the General Chair of the Gerindra Party.

Prabowo explained that this proposal was the result of an internal Golkar Party meeting. So deliberations need to be held between all parties in the Advanced Indonesia Coalition.

“Yes, I thought you were also following earlier, the opening of the National Rapimnas where Golkar’s decision was to nominate me here as presidential candidate, and Mas Gibran Rakabuming Raka as vice presidential candidate, this is Golkar’s decision,” he said.
