JAKARTA, July 23, 2025 – DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung has stressed that there will be no cover-ups regarding the alleged practice of mixing rice at the Tjipinang Food Station, an issue that has sparked public discussion. He emphasized that any findings must be revealed openly and addressed according to established regulations.

Pramono stated he had communicated with the Minister of Agriculture, Andi Amran Sulaiman, about the matter. “Whatever the direction and at the same time the findings, I said I could not be covered up,” Pramono said at the Jakarta City Hall on Wednesday, July 23, 2025.

The governor highlighted the critical role of Tjipinang Food Station in maintaining food price stability in Jakarta, particularly for rice. “All must be responsible. Because for myself, openness is important,” he asserted.

He affirmed that if violations are proven, the legal process would be handled by law enforcement officials. “If it is proven? Yes, it will be law enforcement officials. I don’t want to interfere in the matter,” Pramono added.

Tjipinang Jaya Food Station is a regional-owned enterprise (BUMD) of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Its mandate includes ensuring rice supply and price stability in the capital. Pramono assured that his administration would continue to monitor the station’s performance to keep inflation in Jakarta under control.

“Operations by them (FS). But to maintain prices in Jakarta and so that inflation does not rise high, then they have a significant contribution to that,” Pramono explained.
