by time news

Music and literature, on the way. ‘Itiner.Aria combines the arts of romance and melodic writing with a love for nature and hiking trails. La Calvana, the hill protected site that dominates Prato from the historic refuge of Bastone House, is the venue for the event to be held Saturday 19 June.

The event will take place in two afternoon actions: the first will involve two short but intense ones trekking/reading with the invited authors, the second a concert in the characteristic natural location. The first walk will start from Santa Lucia (CAI path 28) with Mauro Garofalo, writer and journalist who has been in the bookshop for a few weeks with “The green monkeys. A gang of rebellious kids. A planet to save ”(Mondadori). It is an urban green novel, which speaks to the heart of the generation that fights generously alongside Greta Thunberg. The second trek, starting from Filettole, (CAI path 40) will host Eva Toschi, newcomer of the Harper & Collins publishing house with the novel “Per la mia strada”, the story of a girl who graduates in law in the big city and then finds the courage to leave and be reborn in the mountains. The two treks, with a limited number of participants, will be bookable starting from Friday 4 June through the Facebook page of Itinerary Air.

The event is organized by the Parachute association in collaboration with the Municipality, which has included the event in the “PratoEstate” program. «The theme of the first edition of Itiner.Aria – explains Giacomo Alberto Vieri, president of Parachute – is nature as the intersection between poetics and reality: net of an unprecedented pandemic crisis, wrapped in new concepts of isolation, distance, silence, the experiences of immersion in nature, the help it asks us so that it can be saved and safeguarded , are interesting narrative ideas to start from people and try to build a healthy, civil, and green sociality “.

During the journey, participants will be able to talk to the authors about their works – a copy of which will be provided for possible purchase, not mandatory – and about their personal and professional experience. Upon arrival at Casa Bastone, around 5 pm, a talk will be held with the two authors and with the women’s collective CinematograFica (Cinema for gender equality in development), which aims to raise awareness of gender issues and combat gender-based violence. At the end of the debate, the public of the event will be able to listen to the closing concert by Leo Pari, singer-songwriter and multifaceted musician from Rome. The presence at Casa Bastone, to attend the talk and the concert, is free and free: those who have not taken part in the two treks with the authors can still independently reach the refuge at any time in the afternoon. The organization recommends participants / walkers “To go down to the valley for the sunset and to carry a head torch or a flashlight in the backpack”. In fact, it is strictly not recommended to walk in the woods late in the evening without the right precautions.
