Lucknow: A bulldozer was used to demolish the house of a convict in a clash that erupted over anti-prophetic remarks. The house of Javed Ahmed, a local leader in Prayag Raj, Uttar Pradesh, was demolished. Police have identified Javed Ahmed as the mastermind behind the city’s protests against BJP leader Nupur Sharma for making anti – prophetic remarks.
The national media reported that all the furniture was removed after the house was warned to be demolished. A search of the home turned up posters and flags with slogans. The poster reads, “When injustice becomes law, riot becomes law.” A notice was posted in front of the house to demolish it. The Prayag Raj Development Authority has issued a notice to vacate at 11 am on Sunday. It was then that the demolition began. Heavy police patrols were also set up in the area.
The Prayag Raj Development Authority claims that the house was built illegally. Javed Ahmed is a resident of JK Ashiana Colony, Prayag Raj. Prayag Raj SSP Ajayakumar told the media that Javed Ahmed was in jail and that more people behind the violence had been identified. ‘Underage children are being stoned to death by the police and the government. The case has been registered under 29 sections. Some of those who protested against the citizenship laws in 2020 are also behind the current protests, ”Ajay Kumar said.
