This June 16 is celebrated throughout the Church to the merciful Sacred Heart of Jesus, who appeared to Santa Margarita María de Alacoque asking her to establish this feast.
After experiencing the sweetness of the Divine Heart, she composed a prayer to be faithful to him with all her being and ask him to reach eternity.
The saint once advised: “When you get up, enter the Sacred Heart of Jesus and consecrate your body, your soul, your heart and your being completely, to only live for his love and glory.”
According to Diocese of AvignonIn France, Saint Margaret Mary wrote a prayer in which she recognizes the Lord in the Blessed Sacrament and, recalling Christ’s offering to God the Father, asks him to destroy the sin that is in her.
Below is the prayer written by this great mystic to the Heart of Jesus:
“Jesus Christ, my Lord and my God, whom I believe to be truly and truly present in the Blessed Sacrament of the altar, receive this act of most profound adoration to make up for the desire that I would have to adore you without ceasing there, and in thanksgiving for the sentiments of love that your Sacred Heart has for me.
I could not recognize them better than by offering you all the acts of adoration, resignation, patience and love that this same Heart did during its mortal life, and that it still does and will do eternally in heaven, to love, praise and adore you worthily for itself as much as I can.
I join this divine offering that you make to your Father; and I consecrate my whole being to you, asking you to destroy sin in me and not allow it to separate me forever from you”.
