Prayers were offered for the oppressed people of war-torn Palestine at the end of the main congregation of Eid-ul-Fitr prayers at the National Eidgah. At this time, the welfare and peace of the country and the people and the Muslim Ummah have been sought.
The main congregation started at 8:30 am on Thursday (April 11). Khatib Hafez Maulana Mufti Mohammad Ruhul Amin of Baitul Mukarram National Mosque presided over it. Muhammad Habibur Rahman, the muezzin of that mosque, served as the mokabbir.
At the end of the prayer, prayers were offered for Bangladesh, Bangabandhu and the Prime Minister. Everyone is sought protection from incurable diseases including dengue. In particular, Allah’s help is sought for the Palestinians.
Mufti Mohammad Ruhul Amin in Ambayan called on the Prime Minister to strengthen his hand to take the country forward before the prayers. He said, everyone should strive to fulfill the dream of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman who made the country independent. Children should be educated in nation building. Responsibilities towards children should be performed properly.
National Eidgah ground President Md. Sahabuddin, members of the cabinet, members of parliament, senior military-civilian officials, foreign diplomats, important persons and worshipers from all walks of life participated in the main congregation at the National Eidgah. Separate arrangements have been made for women’s prayers. About 35,000 men and women perform Eid-ul-Fitr prayers here. A large number of law enforcement personnel were deployed around the main Eid congregation.
