Jaguar goes to Baenão this Wednesday (20), at 7 pm (Manaus time), to try to bring a good result aiming for the decisive game at home
Amazonas FC visits Clube do Remo this Wednesday (20). The game, which takes place at 7pm (Manaus time), at the Baenão Stadium, in Belém (PA), is the first of the quarter-final stage of the 2024 Copa Verde. The northern clash is worth a place to be Manaus or Paysandu’s opponent in the semi-finals of regional competition.
The match will be broadcast live and with images on Remo TV Betnacional, the official channel of the Pará team on YouTube. The return game takes place this Saturday (23), at 5pm (Manaus time), at Arena da Amazônia.
This will be only the second meeting between the teams in history. In the 3rd round of the 2023 Brazilian Series C, Amazonas went to Baenão and beat Remo 2-1, with two goals from Sassá.

Champion of the 2021 edition, Remo seeks to return to the Copa Verde decision. The club started the season with Ricardo Catalá as coach, however, after being eliminated in the first phase of the Copa do Brasil by Porto Velho, the pressure for changes grew and work was interrupted.
Paraguayan Gustavo Morínigo, formerly of Coritiba, Ceará and Avaí, was hired and is off to a promising start. In the first three matches with the new commander, Leão defeated Trem-AP, in the round of 16 of the Copa Verde, and twice against Santa Rosa, in the quarter-finals of the Campeonato Paraense.
Against Amazonas, Morínigo will lead Remo for the fourth time
After three victories against more modest opponents, Morínigo faces the first more impactful challenge against Leão, in the fourth match. The coach may have difficulty choosing the team, as the squad remains missing due to injured athletes. Pavani, Ícaro and Felipinho are handed over to the medical department with muscle problems. Marco Antônio and Vidal were left out against Santa Rosa and are doubts.
The tendency is for Remo to be selected in the same way as they beat Santa Rosa last weekend, with: Marcelo Rangel; Thalys, Ligger, Jonilson and Raimar; Henrique, Renato Alves and Sillas; Jaderson, Echaporã and Ribamar.

Debuting in the competition, Amazonas had a scare, but defeated Capital-TO in the round of 16 by 4-1 and advanced to face Remo. The Jaguar is coming off a 3-1 victory over Operário in the State Championship, where they played with an alternative team, sparing the main players for the duel in Belém.

For this match, the Aurinegro commander will not be able to count on Spanish midfielder Mauro Bravo. He sprained his left knee while warming up for the duel with Operário, and must undergo an MRI to assess the severity of the injury.
Coach Luizinho Vieira has been managing the squad’s drafts and, with no absences in the team considered starting, should repeat the eleven that qualified in the Copa do Brasil against Maringá-PR, with: Edson Mardden; Patric, Iván Alvariño, Fabiano and Renan Castro; PH, Guilherme Mantuan, Rafael Tavares and Diego Torres; William Barbio and Sassá.
