The Government of Tamil Nadu has declared those working in cemeteries in Tamil Nadu as frontline employees.
Police, troopers, garrisons, prison staff, volunteers involved in disaster management, and municipal or revenue staff working in corona controlled areas have already been declared frontline personnel.
In that regard, the Government of Tamil Nadu has declared them as frontline staff in recognition of the work of the grave staff who have been fully engaged and employed during the Corona period and with special privileges. The government has also stated that a relief fund of 10 lakh rupees will be provided to the families of cemetery workers in case of death.
