Desperate Plea from Mother of Missing Man Sparks Doubt in Sinaloa Examination
More than 50 days after 25-year-old Carlos Emilio López Valenzuela disappeared from Mazatlán, Sinaloa, his mother’s heartfelt appeal for compassion is amplifying concerns about the pace and transparency of the official investigation.
mexico City – The search for Carlos Emilio López Valenzuela, last seen leaving a bar in Mazatlán on October 5, 2024, has stretched beyond 50 days, mirroring the agonizing wait endured by countless mothers across Mexico. His mother,Brenda valenzuela, has taken to social media with a raw and desperate plea,a powerful message focused solely on her son’s safe return, and a growing frustration with the authorities.
“I don’t know who saw him,I don’t know who has information.”
Valenzuela’s message is a powerful rejection of vengeance, focusing solely on the desire for her son’s safe return. “If someone, anyone, has the possibility of helping him return, I do not ask that he surrender, I do not ask that he speak, I do not ask that he expose himself. I only ask for compassion. Nothing more than that: compassion. A mother does not bring revenge in her heart. She brings love. And that love today speaks to all the hearts that can listen: let me hug my son. Let him live. I am not looking for blame. I am only looking for my child.”
Though, the family’s hope is increasingly tempered by frustration with the official investigation.Regional Prosecutor Isaac Aguayo recently stated that López Valenzuela had left the bar through a back door accompanied by two unidentified men, and subsequently entered a truck.
This account has done little to reassure the López Valenzuela family, instead raising more questions than answers. Brenda Valenzuela publicly challenged the Deputy prosecutor, asserting that crucial details – including the identified routes and the identities of the two men – should have been disclosed much earlier. She characterized the investigation as slow and incomplete.
“Definitely the statements of the deputy prosecutor… I have many more questions than answers from what is obtained from that information,” Valenzuela stated in remarks to the media. She specifically questioned why her son, as a patron of the establishment, would have been directed to exit through a back door, and demanded to know the identities of his companions.
The mother of the missing athlete and professional is demanding greater transparency and a more detailed timeline of events leading up to her son’s disappearance. “I think that, perhaps immediately, it would be very good if the deputy prosecutor gave us new statements, shared more information with us if it is true that they have already defined a probable route of where they took her,” she saeid.
As the investigation continues at a measured pace, Brenda Valenzuela’s message remains a poignant reminder of the human cost of disappearance, and a desperate plea for compassion that echoes the hopes of families across Mexico.
